Us curvy girls don’t always have the luxury of walking in a store and pulling items off the right off the rack without going all the way to back and checking for the biggest size they offer. I see curvy girls ask for plus size retailers all the time so I created a list of my favorite stores to go to (in no particular order).
My first experience with Rebdolls came about when I won a giftcard giveaway around Christmas last year. I purchased a grey sweater dress and a pink strapless dress that I ended up wearing on NYE. My favorite thing about Rebdolls clothes is that they are true to size and comfortable. I hate tugging on clothes that fit in one place and not the other (ex. Fits in the hips, huge at the bust and vice versa)
Rue 107 has a very dedicated following. I first heard about them when my best friend made a purchase. My first purchase was actually the Marjorie bodysuit seen in my photoshoot at the Quirk Hotel. Rue 107 offers sexy, stand out pieces that step far out of the box we’re used to seeing plus size clothing in.
Fashion To Figure
Fashion to Figure is probably in the top 3 of my favorite places to shop. I first encountered them in DC when I purchased my favorite safari jacket. I also wore their Falling For You set in my photoshoot at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Fashion To Figure offers sexy yet affordable pieces that are trendy and comfortable.
I hear a lot of crap towards Charlotte Russe but if I’m in a pinch this is the first store I’m going to. I will say that I frequent CR more in the warmer months for party clothes but with the expansion of their plus size offerings I have fallen in love with their jeans. They fit great around the booty without doing the weird puckering thing at the waist and the denim is thin enough to comfortably wear boots over. I can definitely see a denim haul in my near future.
Another store that gets a lot of negative feedback is another go-to of mine because I am cheap and do not care. Rainbow has been holding us down for YEARS. Let’s not get bougie. Rainbow has a huge plus size section! They also offer inexpensive jeans and tops for days. They’re also a great place to get your basic t-shirts, tanks and camisoles.
Another store off my top 3 is Boohoo. This UK based retailer offers EVERYTHING in plus sizes. But my favorite thing to purchase from Boohoo are their bodysuits. I save myself from exposing my lower back and possible plumber’s crack thanks to their comfortable fit. They offer plus size clothes that can go just about anywhere. Now that I mention it I do need new long sleeve bodysuits for fall/winter.
If you follow me on social media you know I go SUPER hard for Gwynnie
Bee. I rely on this plus size clothing subscription service to make sure I’m always the best dressed in the office. They also offer clothing for the evenings and weekends. Get $10 on me and try Gwynnie Bee for 30 days free!
Torrid is one of the most recognizable plus retailers out there. While their main thing is clothes, they’ve made my list for their selection of wide width shoes, swimwear and intimates. I have wide feet, big calves and thighs. Torrid offers shoes and boots that accommodates all of that. I also love that Torrid is the curvy girl one stop shop that straight sizes get at Forever 21 and H&M.
I’m sure we are all familiar with the magic that is Target. With that we’re familiar with their awesome clothes under all of that awesome lighting.
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for how much you spend when visiting Target. You know you can’t just go in there for one thing.
